Little Flyers Laurimar Township

A True Home Away From Home, in the Heart of Laurimar.

Laurimar Township Childcare and Kindergarten is a warm, welcoming and inclusive service located right in the heart of Laurimar. Within walking distance to local shops, Laurimar Primary School and our Bush Kinder location, we are deeply connected to our community. We value each child as a capable and confident learner, and recognise the importance of building strong, trusting relationships that support wellbeing, confidence and resilience.

Our Learning Environments

Within our walls, you can see and feel the creativity, learning, love and joy that fills our centre. Our rooms tell the story of the children who belong in them. Their artwork, ideas, voices, learning and special moments are proudly displayed throughout the spaces. It feels lived in, loved and truly theirs.

Our age groups are thoughtfully separated, allowing each environment to feel like its own little community and to grow alongside the children within it. And while our building may be a little older, we think that is part of its charm. Within its walls are years of children’s learning, friendships, creativity and memories.

Where Learning Comes to Life

Most importantly, our children have a voice here. Their interests, ideas and choices are woven throughout our environments and experiences, ensuring that what happens within our walls genuinely reflects the children who fill them.

Funded Kindergarten Programs
We are a long day care service offering funded Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs, led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers.

Child-Led and Intentional Teaching
Exploration activities are thoughtfully planned using both child-led and intentional teaching approaches, allowing children to investigate, discover and problem-solve through play.

Bush Kinder
Our Bush Kinder location is within walking distance of the centre, giving children regular, immersive time in the natural environment at no additional cost.

Excursions and Incursions Included
Children participate in excursions and incursions at no additional cost, allowing their learning to extend well beyond the walls of their classroom.

A Day at Our Centre

Our daily routines are designed to provide children with a balance of consistency, security and flexibility, supporting their wellbeing while allowing opportunities for play, exploration and learning throughout the day. Children are welcomed into a warm and inviting environment where they are encouraged to make choices, build relationships and engage confidently in experiences that reflect their interests.

Throughout the day, children take part in indoor and outdoor experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, independence and collaboration. These may include sensory play, creative arts, construction, dramatic play, literacy and numeracy opportunities, science investigations, cooking experiences, music and movement, gardening and sustainability projects.

Group times are embedded within the routine to support communication, social development and a sense of belonging, through stories, songs, discussions, mindfulness activities and shared learning. Outdoor play gives children the chance to build confidence, coordination and resilience, taking safe risks and connecting with peers through cooperative play.

Meal and rest times are approached as meaningful moments for connection, independence and wellbeing, with educators supporting children to develop self-help skills, healthy habits and respectful social interactions. Our routines remain flexible to meet the needs of individual children and families, recognising that every child learns and develops at their own pace.

Building Strong Connections

What makes our centre special is the genuine sense of warmth, connection and belonging felt within our walls. We are incredibly connected to our families and wider community, with those relationships forming an important part of who we are.

Step into Prep with Laurimar Primary School
We have a strong relationship with Laurimar Primary School and offer a Step into Prep program, helping our kinder children build familiarity, confidence and connections ahead of their transition to school. Weekly excursions in Terms 3 and 4 further strengthen that connection.

Weekly Library Bus Service
Throughout the year we enjoy weekly library book drop-offs through the library bus service, encouraging a love of literacy and storytelling.

DPV Health Partnership
We are proud to maintain an ongoing partnership with DPV Health, who visit throughout the year to support children’s wellbeing, health and development.

Community Helpers and Safety Visits
Children benefit from visits by the Country Fire Authority, ambulance services, State Emergency Service and police, building awareness of community helpers and safety practices. We also provide dog safety education visits, supporting children to learn safe and respectful interactions with animals.

Grandma Glenys and Celebrations
Grandma Glenys runs engaging craft and creative experiences with the children during celebrations and significant events including ANZAC Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween and Christmas, fostering creativity, connection and a sense of tradition.

Meet and Greet Kinder Night
At the beginning of each year we host a Meet and Greet Kinder Night, giving families the opportunity to connect with educators, learn about the program and build positive relationships within the centre community.

A Team That Stays
Our low staff turnover means children and families build long-term relationships with educators who genuinely know them, and the team works collaboratively and supports one another like family.
