When the weather isn’t wonderful outside, Melbourne City Child Care and Kindergarten enjoy a mix of free play and structured learning experiences indoors.

Today in our Toddler room, Alice, Jude and Phoebe made pink play dough with Maidel. They measured out the ingredients and each had a go at mixing it all together with their hands.

They commented throughout, noticing that the mixture was warm to touch!

Sensory play supports children’s language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills and social interaction.  On a rainy day, there is no better way to capture the children’s interest!
